Correspondent Birbhum: The house of renowned artist Abanindranath Tagore was demolished again in Shantiniketan, ignoring the Bolpur Municipality ban. When the demolition first started, the Bolpur Municipality had locked the gate of the house and stopped the work, but this time it was seen that the house was completely demolished by entering the art order at 9 am. Although the gate of the house is still locked by the municipality. But questions have started to arise about how the demolition of this house started again by breaking the municipality ban. However, when Bolpur Municipality Chairman Parna Ghosh was contacted by phone, she could not give a proper answer.
The house of renowned artist Abanindranath Tagore is being demolished in Shantiniketan. Everyone is angry and regretful about this. Abanindranath, nephew of poet Rabindranath Tagore, was the second Acharya of Visva-Bharati. His son Alaknandranath Tagore built a house in Santiniketan. Abanindranath Tagore stayed in that house for some time. After him, that place in Santiniketan is named 'Avanapalli'. That traditional house called 'Avas', which is full of memories, is being demolished. It is learnt that a multi-storey building will be built there. The question arises, will the poet's favorite Santiniketan go into the hands of contractors and land mafias?
