Chief Minister suspends 4 engineers after seeing Vadodara bridge report, death toll rises to 16
Sanchita Chatterjee BS News Agency: The death toll in the Vadodara bridge collapse in Gujarat, India has risen to 16. Some people are still missing, said Vadodara SP Rohan Anand. As a result, the death toll may rise further. After seeing the report in this regard, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel suspended 4 government engineers on Thursday (July 10). He also ordered an inspection of other bridges in the state, so that such disasters can be avoided in the future. A portion of the Gambhira bridge over the Mahisagar river in Vadodara suddenly collapsed on Wednesday (July 9) morning. Several vehicles on the bridge fell into the river. The bridge connected Anand and Vadodara districts of Gujarat. As a result, the bridge was important in terms of transportation. Many vehicles used the bridge to cross the river every day. Police have said that 16 people have died in the bridge collapse so far. The SP said that 16 bodies have been recovered from the river. 3 to 4 people are still missing. A search is underway to find them.
