Forest Festival 2025 will be celebrated across West Bengal from 14th July, 2025 to 20th July, 2025. The state level event will be held at Bengal Safari, Siliguri on 14th July, 2025. Along with this, 23 district level and 2 sub-division level events will also be held.
Sanchita Chatterjee, Siliguri: On 12th July, 2025, two tableaux will be inaugurated from Aranya Bhavan, Kolkata and Siliguri by Smt. Birbaha Hansda, Hon'ble Minister of State, Forests (Independent Charge), Self Help Groups and Self Employment (Independent Charge) and Shri Deval Roy, IFS, Principal Secretary, Forest Department, Government of West Bengal and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force. The tableaux will spread the message of "Save Green" and will also act as a mobile unit for distribution of saplings in Central Kolkata, North Kolkata, South Kolkata, New Town and Salt Lake.
The Forest Festival celebrations will mainly focus on tree plantation initiatives, sapling distribution and joint patrolling of the forests with the members of the Joint Forest Management Committee. Arrangements will be made to distribute free saplings of two saplings per person in urban areas and five saplings per person in rural areas from all forest nurseries.
