A Bangladesh air force training aircraft crashed into a school in Dhaka's Uttara area on Monday, leaving at least 20 people killed and over 150 others injured.
The jet was identified as an F-7 BGI, which went down on the premises of Milestone School and College while students were present on campus. The aircraft took off for a routine training mission but crashed around 1:06 pm.
The crash sent shockwaves through the area, as emergency services rushed to the scene.
Bangladesh army’s public relations office confirmed in a brief statement that the aircraft belonged to the air force. The statement did not elaborate on the cause of the crash or whether the pilot had ejected.
