Sanchita Chatterjee, Kolkata: 21st July 1993 exposed the true face of the Left Front Government, a regime so threatened by dissent that it answered democracy with death. Thirteen lives were lost for demanding free and fair elections.

But one woman refused to be silenced. Smt. @MamataOfficial turned grief into grit, bullets into a battle cry: "বদলা নয় বদল চাই!"On Shahid Dibas, we don’t offer token tributes. We sharpen our resolve. The fight for truth, for justice, for the people, and for Bengal continues, louder and stronger.

The faces have changed, but the oppression remains the same. The 'হার্মাদ' of CPI(M) have simply been replaced by the 'জল্লাদ' of BJP. Where the Left clung to power through scientific rigging, the BJP now misuses the entire electoral machinery to hijack democracy. But let them not forget this is Bengal. The land where 13 lives were sacrificed on this very day in 1993 for the right to vote. If anyone dares to trample on our democratic rights or insult the dignity of our people, they’ll be met with a wall of resistance.
