Last season, we were Durand

Last season, we were Durand runners-up, this time we hope to be champions: Molina

Sanchita Chatterjee,BS News Agency Kolkata: Mohun Bagan Super Giants' chief coach Jose Molina did not know that they would be playing against BSF in the second group match of the Durand Cup on Monday at the Kishor Bharti Stadium. When asked by the media, he expressed surprise when he heard the name of such a stadium for the first time. He said, "Isn't it played at the Salt Lake Stadium? I knew that." Then, Molina, controlling himself, responded, "It doesn't matter which stadium it is played at. Even if you don't see the Kishor Bharti stadium, nothing will come of it. Wherever the game is played, the footballers will take to the field to play well and win the match."

In the first press conference with the media of the new season, Molina repeatedly explained that he and his footballers are more focused on winning the Durand Cup this time. It was not difficult to understand from Molina's professional attitude that they are thinking about nothing else but becoming champions.  Having landed in Kolkata on Thursday night, they started preparing for the Durand Cup from Friday, without wasting so much time. Asked if the pressure of expectations would be even greater this time, Molina said, "The unprecedented success that the team achieved last season, the numerous records they set, will remain in the record books forever. But that is in the past now. This is a new season. Everything has to start anew. It is not known when the ISL will start. So for now, the goal is to win the Durand Cup. We were runners-up last season. Hopefully, we will be champions this time."
