New district in Bengal again?

Purba Medinipur district means Shuvendu Adhikari. So, before the assembly elections, the eyes are on the alert. Now, keeping that aspect in mind, the ruling party is thinking of converting Purba Medinipur district into a small district again to get dividends in the vote bank of Purba Medinipur district, according to various sources. On the one hand, there are development interests and on the other hand, administrative benefits. Similarly, small districts also benefit from drawing dividends in the vote bank. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also in favor of small districts. This time, the state administration is thinking new thoughts about Purba Medinipur district.
Keeping that aspect in mind, a call to create a new district named Dakshina Medinipur has been raised in Ramnagar. Undivided Medinipur played a unique role in India's freedom struggle. From the freedom struggle to education, health and even technology, Undivided Medinipur's name is at the top of all. However, the undivided Midnapore was divided into two districts, East Midnapore and West Midnapore, in 2002. Then in 2016, Jhargram was separated from West Midnapore and West Midnapore and later Jhargram districts emerged. This time, the people of Kanthi and Egra are also happy with the news of converting East Midnapore district into a smaller district. After coming to power in 2011, the people of the state have already got 4 new districts (Alipurduar, Kalimpong, Jhargram and West Burdwan) during his tenure. The demand to divide Midnapore district into smaller districts has been raised, the main objective of which is to make the administration more accessible and solve the problems of the people quickly. Among these demands is that Kanthi be established as a new district town. The demand was made in a special meeting to form Dakshin Midnapore district with Kanthi and Egra. A special meeting was held in Panmondi, Ramnagar, demanding a new district. A special committee was formed in Ramnagar to demand the formation of South Midnapore district.
Nitai Charan Sar, president of a Panchayat Samiti in Ramnagar, Dwijendranath Giri, Rabindra Sar, Tapan Ranjit and others were present. In that special meeting, the demand was raised that the district should be divided to get various facilities of East Midnapore district. They will raise the demands administratively in the coming days.
