Suruchi Sangha coach Ranjan Bhattacharya had spoken out in front of the media, alleging a 'conspiracy' regarding the schedule of the Kolkata Football League. The state football governing body has issued a citation to Ranjan on the grounds that his behavior has tarnished the image of the IFA. Along with the Suruchi Sangha club, Ranjan and Suruchi Sangha secretary Swarup Biswas were asked to appear at the IFA office on Friday and respond to the citation.
Accordingly, on Friday afternoon, they appeared before the IFA disciplinary committee and presented their statements. Suruchi Sangha coach Ranjan expressed regret for his comments. He told the disciplinary committee that he was sorry for his statement. The word 'conspiracy' was wrongly used. However, it was not possible to avoid punishment. The disciplinary committee has banned him for 2 matches. At the same time, Suruchi Sangha coach Ranjan has been ordered to hold a press conference and offer an unconditional apology for making derogatory comments against the IFA in front of the media. Otherwise, Ranjan will face ban for the entire season.
