Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Kolkata: The Kalighat Sports Lovers Association celebrated the 102nd birthday of the late legendary footballer Shailen Manna with great pomp. A football competition was organized on the occasion of Shailen Manna's birthday at the Avenue Sammilani ground at Rabindra Sarovar Stadium on Monday. Four teams participated in the competition. In the first match, Film Artist Star and Kolkata Sports Journalist Star faced each other. Film Artist Star defeated Sports Journalist Star 5-1. Dulal Dey scored the only goal for Sports Journalist Star. Somnath Basu saved five sure goals standing under the three sticks. The event was attended by state Sports Minister Arup Biswas, Kolkata Metropolitan Mayor Firhad Hakim, Bidhannagar Municipality Chairman Sabyasachi Dutta, Shailen Manna's daughter Nilanjana Manna, actress Rituparna Sengupta and others. Swapan Banerjee, secretary of the Kalighat Sports Lovers Association, welcomed everyone by donning an Uttariya.
