Kolkata-Based artist Swati Ghosh brought India's message of peace to the World Peace Conference in South Korea.
Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Kolkata: Kolkata-based artist Swati Ghosh made India proud by bringing the message of peace through art and education at the 18th World Peace Conference held in Seoul, South Korea.
The international conference, held in Cheongju from 16 to 20 September, was organized by the international organization Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL). The International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Youth Peace Group (IPYG) participated as associate organizations.
More than 770 delegates from around the world, including heads of state, ministers, parliament speakers, spiritual leaders, and members of women and youth organizations, participated in the conference.
Swati Ghosh represented India as a special guest and international judge. This year, along with India, two more judges were invited from South Korea and the Czech Republic.
Swati said,
“My main goal is to spread the message of peace among the common people through art and education. Women can lead the world by teaching the values of peace and harmony to the future generation.”
The topic of discussion was women’s leadership, peace education, cultural exchange and implementation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) for world peace.
Representatives from different countries warmly welcomed Swati Ghosh’s artwork and message of peace. She has been honored as an ambassador of peace at the international level.
Swati Ghosh said that in the future she wants to organize such international workshops in India, where it will be possible to further expand the peace and harmony initiative by combining art and education.
Recognition at this World Peace Conference is a moment of pride for India. It has been proven that artists can also play an important role in world peace. Art can be a bridge to connect culture and society.
