Rocket With 40 kg Explosive, Mortar and Assault Weapons Seized in Churachandpur & Kangpokpi*
Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Manipur November 25, 2025 : Security forces seized a long-range rocket loaded with nearly 40 kg of explosive material, along with an improvised mortar and multiple high-risk assault weapons, during coordinated operations in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts today.
In Churachandpur district, troops recovered the long-range explosive-laden rocket, rocket launching stands, a battery piece, and five sandbags from Gelmol village under Churachandpur Police Station.
A separate operation at the Gelbung jungle under Saikul Police Station in Kangpokpi district led to the recovery of a CMG carbine, a .303 rifle, two pistols with magazines, nine country-made bolt-action guns, a locally made grenade, a detonator, a safety fuse, 46 live rounds, 80 empty cases, PEK explosives, pumpis with a stand, Baofeng radio handsets, and tactical gear.
Another search at Songlung village under Kangchup Police Station resulted in the seizure of a Heckler & Koch G3 rifle with magazine, two bolt-action rifles, four pull-mechanism rifles, an improvised mortar, two No. 36 hand grenades with arming rings and detonators, G3 ammunition, and a handheld radio set.
