Eastern Command Concludes ‘Vijay Rally 2025 Ride for Valour’.

Pinki Biswas, BS News Agency, Kolkata, December 7, 2025: The Eastern Command of the Indian Army successfully concluded the Vijay Rally 2025 – “Ride for Valour”, a motorcycle expedition held to commemorate Vijay Diwas and India’s historic victory in the 1971 War in which 93000 soldiers of Pakistan Army had surrendered on December 16, 1971; largest surrender since the Second World War.
The rally began on November 25, 2025, with riders from all the States of North-East joining this journey that had officially started from Guwahati on 01 Dec 2025. Covering 1350+ km, the rally passed through key locations including Dimapur, Tezpur, Shillong, Guwahati, Binnaguri, Sukna, Hilli, Siliguri, Malda, Panagarh and Nabagram, before culminating at Vijay Smarak, Vijay Durg. Along the route, solemn tribute was paid to the soldiers who had laid down their lives in the line of duty in 1971 by conducting wreath-laying ceremonies at the Albert Ekka, Karimganj, Kilpara, Sukna, Bogra and Hili War Memorials.

The final leg of the rally was led by Lt Gen RC Tiwari, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command, who joined the symbolic ride in Kolkata today.

To honour the victory in 1971, a total of 71 service riders and 71 civil riders participated in the Rally. 
The concluding 25 km ceremonial ride through Kolkata saw riders pay homage to the fallen heroes in a solemn ceremony at the Vijay Smarak which stands as testimony to the invaluable contribution of Eastern Command and its valiant warriors. Enthusiastic bikers joined en route.
The completion of the Vijay Rally 2025 marks the formal start of Vijay Diwas Celebrations 2025 (14–16 December), honouring the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
