Sanchita Chatterjee, News Agency: Vote rigging is not happening in the EVMs, but in the voter lists, and it's being done from the Commission's office itself! The Trinamool Congress has caught onto this. Trinamool's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee clearly stated this on Wednesday after emerging from a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Delhi. On this day, the Trinamool General Secretary challenged Gyanesh Kumar to release the footage of their nearly two-and-a-half-hour meeting.
Abhishek declared, “I urge all parties to detect the vote rigging that is being done through software in the voter list. If nothing of the sort is happening, then release the list of logical discrepancies. There was no such thing as a ‘suspicious list’ in the previous SIR (Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls). I clearly told Gyanesh Kumar – you are using the electoral roll as a weapon. Was he sent by Amit Shah to destroy the dignity of this institution?”
On this day, the Trinamool General Secretary led a 10-member delegation to the Election Commission office in Delhi with a total of 10 questions regarding the SIR in Bengal. An angry Abhishek said, “We were there for two and a half hours, and only Gyanesh Kumar spoke. Couldn't the other commissioners have been allowed to speak for 30 seconds? If he has the courage, let Gyanesh Kumar release the two-and-a-half-hour video footage.”
On this day, Abhishek Banerjee leveled serious allegations against the National Election Commissioner, saying, “Unable to answer our questions during today's meeting, the Chief Election Commissioner lost his temper and pointed his finger at me. I retorted, ‘Lower your finger and speak. I am elected by the people, not nominated.’ If they have the courage, let them release the video footage of today's meeting. We will not accept whatever they say while pointing fingers. Are we bonded laborers? Are we slaves?”
Throwing down the gauntlet, Abhishek said, “Let the CCTV footage of the two-and-a-half-hour meeting be released. Then everyone will understand what happened. A constitutional institution like the Election Commission is being destroyed. Vote rigging is happening not in the EVMs, but in the voter lists.” “If there was no theft, the Election Commission should release the list of 13.6 million logical discrepancies,” said the Trinamool Congress's national general secretary. According to him, the Congress lost because they failed to detect this fraud. But the Trinamool has uncovered this manipulation in the Election Commission's voter list.
Abhishek said, “The Congress, RJD, and Aam Aadmi Party failed to detect these errors in Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, and Delhi. The BJP won everywhere with an 88 percent strike rate; this is not a coincidence. This happened because there was manipulation in the voter list, and it was done by the Election Commission.”
