Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: After the film's release on Friday, January 23, director Raj Chakraborty has once again landed in trouble. Following the film's release in theaters, a former student of Jadavpur University has sent a legal notice to Raj. Allegations of insulting Khudiram Bose had already surfaced regarding Raj Chakraborty's film 'Hok Kolorob'. This had caused a huge uproar on social media. In a scene from the film's teaser, actor Saswata Chatterjee, playing the role of an IPS officer, is heard saying, "Hello, I am Khudiram Chaki. No, I don't carry a bag, I carry a sack!" This dialogue had caused a major stir on social media. After the film's release on Friday, January 23, director Raj Chakraborty has once again faced trouble. A former student of Jadavpur University has now sent a legal notice to Raj. Abhishek Biswas, a former student of Jadavpur University, has raised allegations against Raj regarding the subject matter of the film 'Hok Kolorob'. Abhishek has already sent a legal notice to Raj. He has even shared a picture of it on social media. He alleges that it is damaging the university's image. The former Jadavpur student stated on social media, "Recently, in a film called 'Hok Kolorob', Jadavpur University has been targeted with various falsehoods – which is evident from its trailer and teaser – serious crimes like throwing petrol bombs or setting fire to police stations have been shown against the university students; even in the history of the last 50 years, there is no such instance of this during peaceful movements or processions! As an alumnus, this is my protest against the defamation of the university – I have sent a personal legal notice to Raj Chakraborty – and I have also informed the CBFC and other film regulation boards!" The alumnus further wrote, "Even though I believe in God, I don't believe in idol worship; I have only one temple – Jadavpur University. There are many students across Bengal and India who would not have been able to continue their studies without Jadavpur – are there any other colleges where one can study engineering for just Rs. 10,000?" In any ranking system, Jadavpur remains the best state-run college in West Bengal. If we constantly engage in these activities (as depicted in the film), when will we find time to study? We may or may not win the fight, but it will be recorded that the students and alumni of Jadavpur fought; I urge all students and alumni to at least register your protest – Jadavpur is the pride of Bengal – do not let it be destroyed! Let there be artistic freedom, but without spreading falsehoods.
