Parakram Diwas Celebrated at Victoria Memorial Hall.

Sanchita Chatterjer, BS News Agency: Parakram Diwas was commemorated with great fervour and solemnity at the historic Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata, as part of a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Culture to celebrate the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at 13 locations across India. The event in Kolkata was organised in association with the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) and the Indian Museum, representing the three premier cultural institutions of the Ministry of Culture in the city.
The programme was graced by His Excellency, the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, as the Chief Guest. Dr C. V. Ananda Bose, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. The distinguished presence of these dignitaries added immense significance to the occasion.
On this auspicious day, the Hon’ble Vice President released a book titled “Dad Remembers Netaji”, authored by the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, Dr C. V. Ananda Bose. The book offers personal reflections and insights into the life and ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, further enriching the collective remembrance of the great leader.
Following the visit of the Hon’ble Vice President, a grand cultural programme dedicated to Netaji, titled “Jai Hind: The Call of a Revolutionary”, was presented. The programme featured stirring performances by the Indian Army Band, Diksha Manjari Group led by Ms Dona Ganguly, Iman Chakraborty Academy led by Ms Iman Chakraborty, noted artiste Raghab Chatterjee, and several other distinguished singers. The performances resonated deeply with the audience, evoking patriotism and recalling the indomitable spirit of Netaji.
The celebrations concluded with a special screening of the Light and Sound Show depicting the life, struggles, and ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, projected on the magnificent façade of the Victoria Memorial Hall. The visual spectacle left a lasting impression on the audience and served as a fitting tribute to the legendary freedom fighter.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, with over 1,500 people attending the programme and sharing in the collective tribute to Netaji on Parakram Diwas.
