Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: The Calcutta High Court has issued strict orders in the case of Rujira Banerjee, wife of Trinamool All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. In order to protect Rujira's personal privacy and social respect, the bench of Justice Krishna Rao of the High Court (Calcutta High Court) has ordered that no defamatory or insulting comments should be made against Rujira Banerjee. The court has also banned any unnecessary publicity or practice involving her name in the media.

What is the incident? Due to the publication of half-truths, her and her family's fundamental rights are being violated. Rujira Banerjee's claim was that her right to privacy is being taken away. As a result, she and her family are being harmed. It is alleged that a section of political figures and the media are campaigning as they wish by using her name. Abhishek Gharani Rujira approached the High Court alleging unwanted publicity. Rujira's lawyer argued in the court that a common citizen is being repeatedly defamed by using her name for political gain. After hearing everything, the court today issued an interim stay order in favor of Rujira Banerjee. The interim stay order has been issued till April 24.
