Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: The city seems to be intoxicated with a touch of colors before Holi. The cultural space of the city came back to life with the celebration of the Basant Utsav and Dol Purnima in advance, initiated by the Basant Utsav Committee. A crowd of people gathered in this festival since morning. The festival stage was filled with Hindu and Muslim abir games, from young to old, children and the elderly. The excitement of the festival is created by the colorful abir, the faces painted in the colorful abir, hugging each other, laughing and chatting and taking selfies. Along with the food arrangements, which increases the joy of the festival to another level. Dol Purnima does not only mean the festival of colors, it carries the message of harmony, love and togetherness. In the present day, amidst the division and busyness in society, this Basant Utsav is conceived with the idea that people can enjoy together for at least one day. Keeping that tradition in mind, it is just an attempt to bring people of all classes and communities on one stage.
