Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Overcoming Hurdles in Hormuz, LPG Tanker 'Shivalik' Anchors in Gujarat; 'Nanda Devi' Set to Reach Mumbai Tomorrow. Amidst India's ongoing fuel crisis, news offering some relief has emerged. On Monday, the Indian LPG tanker 'Shivalik' arrived at Mundra Port in Gujarat. Despite the prevailing tensions and conflict situation in West Asia, the tanker had safely navigated the Strait of Hormuz and set sail for India just two days prior. It is not just the 'Shivalik'; another Indian LPG tanker, the 'Nanda Devi,' has also successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that this vessel is expected to reach Mumbai Port as early as Tuesday.
The safe passage of these two vessels is being hailed as a significant development and a major source of relief regarding India's fuel supply.
The 'Shivalik' is the second tanker to reach India via the Strait of Hormuz since the outbreak of hostilities last month; once the 'Nanda Devi' arrives, it will mark the third such vessel. The very first ship to reach India following the onset of the conflict was a Liberian-flagged crude oil tanker arriving from Saudi Arabia.
