Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: LPG prices in Kolkata have surged by a whopping ₹218 in a single hike; find out the new rates for LPG cylinders here. Effective today, April 1st, the price of commercial LPG gas has risen by over ₹200. These new rates have come into effect in various cities, including Kolkata and Delhi; however, there has been no change in the price of domestic 14-kg cylinders.

This price hike is set to increase operating costs for restaurants and hotels. LPG gas has been making headlines for quite some time now, as the rising cost of fuel continues to cause financial strain for everyone. Amidst this situation, gas prices are undergoing a revision starting today, April 1st, with rates seeing a significant jump in a single instance. Check out the specific prices at which gas is being sold in different cities. With the new rates now in force, purchasing a commercial gas cylinder in Kolkata will cost ₹2,208. In Delhi, the cost will be ₹2,078.50, while in Mumbai, it will amount to ₹2,031. Similarly, in Chennai, the price will be ₹2,246. Commercial gas cylinders are typically utilized by large restaurants and hotels; consequently, the monthly operating expenses for these establishments are set to rise. Meanwhile, the price of domestic 14-kg cylinders remains unchanged. In Kolkata, the price of a domestic 14-kg cylinder stands at ₹939. In Delhi, the price for a domestic 14-kg cylinder is ₹913, and in Chennai, it is ₹928.50.
