Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: In an interview given some time ago, the actor revealed that there was a time when he actually harbored a slight fear of dogs. However, all such apprehensions vanished the moment Lucky entered his life. On May 4th, as vote counting proceeded across the state, with all eyes fixed on the news, a shadow of grief fell upon the family of actor and Trinamool MP Dev.
The actor is heartbroken over the loss of his beloved pet. Dev had two pets—Lucky and Happy—both of whom he regarded as his own children. Naturally, he is deeply saddened by this turn of events. As he had mentioned in that earlier interview, while he once felt a certain trepidation toward dogs, all his fears dissipated the instant Lucky became a part of his life. Thus, it could be said that the star has lost his "eldest son." Sharing a photograph of Lucky on social media, the actor wrote, "You were the greatest blessing of my life. Come back to me soon." Sources indicate that the entire family is in mourning; both pets were cherished dearly by the actor's parents, his sister, and everyone within his close circle. The passing of one of them has left everyone feeling a profound sense of loss. Dev himself frequently spoke about them in various interviews and even shared numerous heartwarming videos featuring his pets. Whenever the actor returned home from abroad, Lucky would shower him with affection, with Happy joining in to keep him company. Just a month ago, both pets were present at the celebration marking Dev's 20th anniversary in the Bengali film industry; Lucky and Happy stood alongside Dev and his family on stage—moments of pure affection that were witnessed by all. As he bids farewell to a companion of nearly 14 years, Dev remains inconsolable.
