Free Food Distribution to the Hungry and Destitute at Sealdah on World Hunger Day.

Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: On the occasion of World Hunger Day, free food was distributed today—Thursday—to hungry and destitute individuals near the Metro station adjacent to the Sealdah South section. This initiative to stand by the underprivileged and helpless members of society was undertaken by a voluntary organization named "Utkarshe Arohan." The popular Bengali restaurant "Bhuter Raja Dil Bor" extended a helping hand to the program by providing cooked meals.
During the midday event, food was distributed to numerous passersby, daily wage earners, and hungry individuals. Speaking on behalf of "Utkarshe Arohan," Anupam Majumdar stated that this initiative was launched with the specific aim of conveying the core message of World Hunger Day to the public. He further added that many people in society still suffer from a lack of food on a daily basis, and standing by such individuals is a social responsibility that rests upon everyone.
The organizers expressed their intention to continue such humanitarian initiatives not merely for a single day, but into the future as well.
The food distribution drive painted a beautiful picture of humanity in the area. The initiative also garnered a positive response from the general public; everyone—from railway passengers to local residents—applauded the organizers for their efforts.
