Sanchita Chatterjee,  BS News Agency: He is the co-founder of I-PAC—the organization he left in 2024 to establish the 'Jan Suraj Party' after stepping away from political consultancy. Prashant Kishor, the chief of the Jan Suraj Party, has now 'taken shelter' in an ashram located on the outskirts of Patna. He has announced that, henceforth, he will conduct all his political activities from this location. He has resolved to continue operating from there until his party successfully establishes a foothold in the state during the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking to journalists in Darbhanga, Bihar, Prashant—who transitioned from a poll strategist to a politician—revealed that he had moved from his residence in Patna to the ashram on Tuesday night. The 'Bihar Navnirman Ashram' is situated in close proximity to IIT Patna; this is now his temporary address. However, this arrangement is expected to be a long-term commitment; he has stated that he intends to remain there until his party succeeds in making a significant impact on the state's political landscape in the next Assembly elections.

As the co-founder of I-PAC, who founded the Jan Suraj Party in 2024, he had previously been conducting his operations from a sprawling bungalow known as 'Sheikhpura House.' Located near the Patna airport, this property is owned by the family of the party's National President and former BJP MP, Uday Singh. Singh hails from a prominent political dynasty; his grandfather, N.K. Singh, is a former Rajya Sabha MP and the former Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission. Meanwhile, his late mother, Madhuri Singh, was a veteran Congress leader and a multi-term Member of Parliament representing Purnia.

Kishor, a former Vice President of the JD(U), recently launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This came after Nitish resigned from his post to enter the Rajya Sabha. Against this backdrop, Prashant has urged the voters of Bihar to prioritize their own interests rather than casting their votes based on caste, religion, or financial inducements. He asserted that when exercising their franchise, the people of Bihar must keep the future of their own children in mind. He advised them not to be swayed by leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar, or Lalu Prasad, nor should they sell their votes in exchange for monetary sums—such as 10,000 rupees.

He had spoken of achieving a positive outcome.  However, Prashant Kishor's party, Jan Suraj, failed to even open its account in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. After suffering a crushing defeat on the electoral battlefield, he remarked that the party had failed despite making an honest effort, and he personally took full responsibility for the outcome. In this high-stakes election, Jan Suraj contested 238 seats but failed to win a single one. Their campaign came to a halt after securing a mere 3.44 percent of the vote.
