Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: This time, State BJP President Samik Bhattacharya has taken a dig at Ganguly regarding the issue of industrial development.
"I once knew a gentleman. We knew him as someone who would 'step out' and hit the ball for an 'over-boundary' (a six). But suddenly, I see him throwing the ball from outside the boundary line back towards the popping crease. Announcements regarding Bengal's industrial growth are being made from Spain; yet, today, one would not find a trace of that very industry even if one searched for it with a microscope."
Speaking at an event organized by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry today—Tuesday—Samik Bhattacharya launched an attack on Sourav Ganguly without explicitly naming him.
Notably, in 2023, while seated alongside Mamata Banerjee in Spain, Sourav had announced plans to establish an industrial unit in Salboni, Midnapore. That project, however, has yet to materialize—a fact that Samik Bhattacharya took the opportunity to highlight.
