Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Mamata Banerjee stated that arrangements are being made for Abhishek Banerjee's medical treatment at home, under the supervision of their family physician. She mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had called to inquire about his condition and offered to arrange for his treatment in Hyderabad should the need arise. Abhishek Banerjee was taken home from the hospital while still on an IV drip. Upon reaching home, he walked up the stairs on his own. Speaking to journalists outside the hospital at Minto Park on Saturday night, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee announced that Abhishek had been discharged from the hospital and that arrangements for his treatment were being made at home. Mamata alleged that the hospital authorities were being subjected to threats. She said, "We have a family physician; he will oversee the treatment at home. The hospital is under threat. They were unable to provide treatment there. He has been put on a saline drip."
She further added, "The CPM was in power for 34 years, yet even they never resorted to such tactics. What happened today constitutes sheer brutality." Mamata revealed that Rahul Gandhi had called her and asked her to reach out to him if necessary. She quoted him as saying, "In that case, I will make arrangements to have him taken to Hyderabad."
