Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: Tamluk Khelaghar George Telegraph has ushered in a new chapter in the Kolkata Maidan. Jose Ramirez Barreto—the legendary former footballer of Mohun Bagan—has taken charge as the club's head coach. This popular Brazilian star is set to make his debut as a coach in the Kolkata Maidan for the very first time.
The club has announced that a one-year contract has been finalized with Barreto. Former Mohun Bagan footballer Suman Dutta will serve as his assistant. The duo has previously worked together successfully in the Bengal Super League.
Upon assuming his new responsibilities, Barreto stated:
“I am proud to begin working with a club as historic as Tamluk Khelaghar George Telegraph. As a footballer, the Maidan showered me with immense love. Now, as a coach, I will strive to give my absolute best.”
Anirban Dutta—the club's Joint Secretary and also the Secretary of the IFA—remarked:
“We are confident that Barreto's experience and footballing philosophy will elevate the team to new heights. Tamluk Khelaghar George Telegraph has always prioritized nurturing new talent and embracing fresh ideas.”
The club's Executive Secretary, Anindya Dutta, added:
“Tamluk Khelaghar George Telegraph will participate in the Kolkata Premier Division League this season, and our primary objective is to achieve significant success in the competition.”
