Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: His visit to the state is aimed at participating in the process of forming the party's first government in West Bengal—following the BJP's resounding victory (securing 207 seats) in the state assembly elections—and selecting the new Chief Minister.

Upon his arrival in Kolkata, the Home Minister proceeded directly from the airport to the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, where he offered prayers and sought blessings.

Meeting with Legislators-Elect: At a hotel in New Town, Kolkata, he is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting with the newly elected BJP legislators. It is during this meeting that the name of the party's legislative leader—who will serve as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal—will be finalized.



On May 9 (Saturday)—marking the birth anniversary of the revered poet Rabindranath Tagore—the swearing-in ceremony for the new government is set to take place at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are expected to be present at this grand event.

Upon landing at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, he was accorded a magnificent welcome by the party's top leadership—including state leader Suvendu Adhikari—along with a multitude of party workers and supporters.
