Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Is This a Counter-Move by Ritabrata to Defend the Stronghold? — Intense internal rebellion grips the party. The ranks of dissidents are swelling across the state. Against this backdrop, a major step has been taken: all committees of the Trinamool Congress have been dissolved. Within just one month of its defeat in the Assembly elections, the Trinamool finds itself in a state of severe crisis. The Trinamool Congress posted an update on 'X' regarding the dissolution of these committees. This move comes amidst intense speculation regarding the emergence of a "New Trinamool." On Wednesday, a post on 'X' from the Trinamool stated: "After careful consideration, a decision has been taken to dissolve all committees of the All India Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, as well as all its affiliate organizations." In other words, the party has dissolved all its various wings—including the student, youth, and women's fronts. This sentiment echoes earlier remarks made by the party supremo, who had previously stated that she would rebuild the party structure—or "set her house in order"—specifically with those who choose to remain loyal during these difficult times, after those inclined to leave have departed.

The post further reads: "The party will undertake a comprehensive self-introspection, performance review, and organizational assessment at every level. Based on the findings of this review, the organizational structures of the core party and all its affiliate bodies will be reconstituted and announced in due course."
It was also affirmed: "The party remains committed to strengthening its organization and preparing itself to face future challenges with renewed vigor and purpose."

On one hand, while figures like Ritabrata have approached the Speaker with the signatures of 58 MLAs—thereby intensifying discussions about the inception of a "New Trinamool"—this post from the Trinamool Congress has emerged against that very backdrop. Does this signify that, amidst the fractures and rebellions, the Trinamool Supremo intends to make a fresh start? Will this strategy succeed in defending the party's stronghold? These questions are now being raised across various quarters.
