Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Speaker Rathindra Basu has officially recognized the rebel faction of the Trinamool Congress—led by Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha—as the Opposition Party within the Legislative Assembly. The disgruntled camp of the Trinamool has thus secured recognition as the Opposition in the Assembly. This dissident faction is headed by two legislators—Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha—who were previously expelled from the Trinamool Congress. Barely twenty-four hours after this development, Ritabrata and Sandipan appeared before the CID. It has been reported that the CID recorded the statements of Ritabrata and Sandipan today in connection with the signature forgery scandal within the Legislative Assembly. Notably, it was Ritabrata and Sandipan who had written to the Assembly Speaker, leveling allegations of signature forgery. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari subsequently disclosed this information. Following this, the Trinamool Congress expelled Ritabrata and Sandipan. According to sources, Ritabrata and Sandipan met with the CID at a specific location earlier today.
