The tragic accident occurred around 12:07 PM when the roof of a five-storey steel-framed structure collapsed during concrete casting, trapping several workers. Casualties & Rescue: At least 3 to 4 people were killed and over 18 injured. Army columns, NDRF, SDRF, and local authorities are conducting war-footing rescue operations. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari halted all municipal building construction plans approved under the previous regime until July 31 for reassessment. He stated that preliminary investigations revealed structural and design defects in the sanctioned building plan. Minister Agnimitra Paul assessed the incident site, and Minister of State Dr. Indranil Khan actively monitored and oversaw the rescue operations.
