Kalighat Trinamool went to the police station against the Ritabratas, what are the allegations of Dola Sen?

Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has filed a complaint with the police against a group of rebel leaders. They have been accused of criminal impersonation, forgery and unauthorized use of the party's name and symbol. MP Dola Sen from the Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) filed the complaint at the Kalighat and Newtown police stations. Apart from Ritabrata, the Trinamool has also named Arup Roy, Javed Khan, Sandipan Saha, and Biplob Mitra. The complaint states that the rebel leaders held unauthorized meetings, circulated false documents and electronic messages and falsely presented themselves as representatives of their party.

The move comes after a group of rebel TMC MLAs announced the formation of a 'National Executive Committee' on their own initiative and began holding meetings at various places. On June 22, the rebel faction of the Trinamool Congress announced the formation of a National Executive Committee on their own initiative and nominated Arup Roy as its president. Mamata Banerjee was also offered the role of mentor. Senior TMC leader Kunal Ghosh reacted strongly to the move. He accused the rebel leaders of misusing the party's name and symbol and betraying Mamata Banerjee's leadership. Kunal claimed that some rebel leaders were working under pressure and stressed that the people of West Bengal would reject any attempt to weaken the party's formal leadership.

Abhishek Banerjee not included in new National Executive Committee

It is noteworthy that TMC's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee was not included in the newly announced National Executive Committee. This move is expected to further fuel speculations about internal divisions and shifting loyalties in the party. Rebel leader Ritabrata Banerjee claimed that the committee was formed in accordance with the party's constitution and the proceedings of the special session will be reported to the Election Commission. He also said that as part of the organizational expansion, the group will soon form district committees, state units and a panel of spokespersons.

Besides claiming that the rebel group represents the "real" Trinamool Congress, Ritabrata also showed a conciliatory attitude towards party supremo Mamata Banerjee. He said that Mamata Banerjee can act as the chief advisor of this group if she wants. He said, "If Mamata Banerjee wants to be the chief advisor, she will be warmly welcomed."
