Sri Lanka
In a letter dated June 8, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake conveyed sincere greetings on behalf of his country's government and people. He wrote, "This milestone is not merely a testament to your long tenure but also highlights the repeated trust the people of the world's largest democracy have placed in your leadership." The President further noted that India's remarkable economic and social transformation has inspired many nations, including Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi visited Sri Lanka from April 4–6, 2025—his fourth visit to the island nation. During this visit, he was conferred with 'Mitra Vibhushan,' Sri Lanka's highest civilian honor. This visit further strengthened India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy. The support India extended during Sri Lanka's economic crisis in 2022 stands as a prime example of this friendship.
Papua New Guinea
In a personal video message, Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister James Marape described Prime Minister Modi as a "role model and example of leadership." He added, "Lifting over 200 million people out of poverty and providing them with a better life is an extraordinary achievement." Prime Minister Marape also expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral ties with India. In May 2023, Prime Minister Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Papua New Guinea. His historic visit for the third Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC-III) summit opened new horizons in India's relations with Pacific Island nations. This visit further underscored India's role as a steadfast partner of the Global South.
Trinidad and Tobago
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago also extended her greetings to Prime Minister Modi on this occasion. He stated, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has emerged as a leading voice on the global stage today." He highlighted Prime Minister Modi's journey from an ordinary family to becoming the leader of a nation of 1.4 billion people, as well as India's significant achievements in foreign policy, economic growth, infrastructure, and socio-economic development. Prime Minister Modi visited Trinidad and Tobago on July 3–4, 2025. This was the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, coinciding with the 180th anniversary of the arrival of Indian immigrants in Trinidad and Tobago.
