Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: The National Citizens Party of India (NCPI) in West Bengal has issued a statement regarding alleged rifts among its MPs, asserting that all MPs remain united. Speculation regarding a split within the party's ranks had arisen, involving Lok Sabha member and former actress Satabdi Roy. The NCPI—which has become the new home for Lok Sabha members of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal—has refuted claims suggesting discord among its 20 MPs. In its statement, the NCPI described reports of internal differences as misleading, reiterating that all its MPs are united and committed to the development of Bengal and the national interest. The NCPI holds 20 seats in the Lok Sabha and is a major constituent of the NDA, although the Speaker has not yet formally approved the merger of the rebel TMC MPs into the NCPI. Satabdi Roy remarked that such stories generate public interest.
The NCPI also shared a statement from Lok Sabha member Satabdi Roy, in which she notes that people are merely constructing a narrative because such stories heighten public interest. Putting an end to baseless rumors about the 20 MPs switching sides, Satabdi Roy stated that their entire focus is on the country's development and that they remain united. It is worth noting that NCPI leaders and MPs had attended the NDA's recent 'Mangal Milan' meeting; following the gathering, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Saayoni Ghosh had expressed great satisfaction. What the NCPI Said in Its Statement
The Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) has stated that certain media organizations and social media platforms are circulating reports claiming there are internal rifts among NCPI MPs. These reports are entirely false, misleading, and baseless. The NCPI categorically rejects and condemns such misinformation.
