England-Norway match may be postponed due to adverse weather

Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: England and Norway are scheduled to face each other in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday in Miami. However, uncertainty has arisen before the start of the match. The match may not start on time due to the forecast of thunderstorms. Earlier, England's match against Mexico in the last 16 match started an hour later due to adverse weather. Meteorologists are expecting a similar situation this time too. Chad Merrill, senior meteorologist at the weather forecasting company AccuWeather, said that there is a possibility of thunderstorms in the Miami area before the match starts.

He said, "At this time of year in Florida, thunderstorms often occur in the afternoon due to the influence of winds coming from the sea. These storms can also be accompanied by heavy rain and gusty winds. According to FIFA rules, if lightning is detected within eight miles of the stadium, the game must be suspended immediately. The game can be restarted at least 30 minutes after the last thunderstorm. The players will then be given another 15 minutes to warm up.

England have faced a number of setbacks since the start of the World Cup. The theft of some of their equipment before the start of the tournament, injuries to several players and a weather-related delay against Mexico have all put Thomas Tuchel's team through a difficult time.
If the weather proves to be an obstacle again, it will be another new challenge for England in the tournament.
