Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency: Rachna said, ‘My statement will differ with those who have been doing Trinamool Congress for many years. I come from a different place, I have no political background. I have changed the party because I realized that the dream I had come with was disrupted. What the rest of them will think is their business.’ NCPI MP Rachna Banerjee, who recently quit Trinamool, attended the administrative meeting in Chunchura, Hooghly on Wednesday. She came to the meeting today and highly praised the newly elected BJP MLA from Chunchura, Subir Nag. After the meeting, Rachana Banerjee came out and faced the reporters and said, "The dream with which I came into politics has been disrupted, so I have changed the party." Along with this, taking the Chunchura MLA by her side, her message was, "We are Modiji Amit Shaji Shuvendu Dar supporters, we have got a very good MLA in Chunchura." Rachana Banerjee won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on a Trinamool Congress ticket from Hooghly constituency. After the political upheaval in the 26th assembly elections, she was seen changing camps along with the remaining 18 Lok Sabha MPs and joining the NCPI. There, they also submitted a letter to the Speaker supporting the BJP-led NDA alliance. 'There is no point in doing a postmortem now'
Regarding this change in political camp, Rachana said, "I did not come into politics with any thought. If I get the support of Dada (Shubhendu Adhikari) here, if I get the support of the Honorable Chief Minister, our Hooghly will develop a lot.
This time, we have got an MLA in Chunchura who is like us. We are all supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Modiji, Amit Shahji and Shuvendu Dar. We know that good work will be done. We do not want anything else.'' Hooghly MP Rachana Banerjee was present at the Disha Committee function at the Hooghly district level at the Chunchura Rabindra Bhavan. On this day, when asked about the breakup of the Trinamool, the change of camp and the fragile state of the previous ruling party in the post-26th phase, the MP was heard saying, ''There is no point in doing a post-mortem on what happened before, what should not have happened. Our goal is now the development of the state.'' His message on July 21st was, ''July 21st is a very emotional day. There is no good, good Trinamool or bad Trinamool in it. Leaving these behind, the day should be observed with the desire for the peace of the souls of those who were martyred that day.''
