There was a lot of speculation surrounding the moment that spread on social media. However, after the match, the young England midfielder explained the whole matter. England was eliminated from the World Cup after losing 2-1 to Argentina in the semi-final on Wednesday. At one point during the match, Messi and Bellingham got into an argument in the middle of the field. The English star spoke about the matter after the match. Bellingham said that the argument between them was based on the referee's decision on a foul. Apart from that, there was no personal dispute or tension. He said, the conversation with Messi? Actually, we were arguing about a foul. Everyone may make a big deal out of it, but honestly, nothing much happened.

Explaining the incident in detail, Bellingham said, "He thought England should have been given a foul. Then Messi asked in return, what about the foul on him. In response, Bellingham jokingly said, "Messi is tough enough, so he can handle it."
Although the match created tense moments, this England midfielder did not forget to praise Messi after the final whistle.

He said, "I am one of the losing teams, so it is difficult. But it is an honor for me to be able to play against one of the best in the world." Bellingham did not hide his disappointment at being eliminated in the semi-finals.

He said, "It is really heartbreaking. I wanted to be part of the England team that will make history. But I have disappointed the fans again. I am sorry for that."
