Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled a huge conspiracy to smuggle gold on the India-Bangladesh border. Acting on a tip-off, the jawans of 32nd Battalion conducted a raid in the Banpur border area of Nadia and recovered about 15 kg 607 grams of gold. According to BSF estimates, the estimated market value of the recovered gold is about 24 crore 95 lakh 56 thousand taka. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in smuggling. BSF officials are interrogating the detained woman in stages to find out the source of the recovered gold and to whom she planned to deliver this consignment. It is also being investigated whether any international smuggling ring is behind this.
It has been informed that the detained woman will be handed over to the Krishnaganj police station police after preliminary investigation. After this incident, security and surveillance in the border area have been increased several times.
