Therefore, we did not know about his staying overnight." Mahua went to Hogalberia police station in Nadia on Friday on the orders of the court based on the complaint filed by a BJP supporter. From there, he went to Krishnanagar Circuit House via Karimpur. Shortly after 10 pm, he said on his X handle that he had been asked to vacate the house. First, he received a call from the Nadia ADM at 9:47 pm. After that, an order in this regard was also sent to him at 10:52 pm. Mahua alleged that when he was asked to vacate the house, a group of BJP workers and supporters gathered outside the circuit house and started shouting slogans against him. The MP also alleged that the administration did not take any action against them.
On Saturday, Mahua wrote an open letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Birla with the handle X, requesting him to ensure the protection of the dignity of the country's women MPs. In the letter, Mahua said that she entered the Circuit House at 6:15 pm on Friday. She was first served tea at 7 pm, followed by dinner at 9:20 pm. After that, the ADM called her and asked her to vacate the room. Mahua alleged that she asked the reason. But she was told that she had received an 'order from the upper echelons', Mahua claimed. Mahua said that at 10:52 pm, the district administration sent her a copy of the order to leave the Circuit House on WhatsApp. It was said that no new room was being booked in the Circuit House for the annual cleaning drive. Her booking was cancelled because it was new. Mahua said, 'However, when I made the booking, when I went to the Circuit House, no one told me anything about it. If there was really an order, why did the administration wait until 10 pm to inform me about it? Why was the copy of the order sent at 10:52?’
Mahua said that at around 11 pm, he suddenly heard shouting outside the circuit house and realized that there was a huge gathering. The MP alleged that on one hand the administration was asking him to leave the house, and on the other hand there was a protest outside against him. Mahua said, ‘The bungalows of the district police superintendent and the district magistrate are on the exact opposite side of this circuit house. There should be no gathering there.’ In a video message, Mahula said, "There is a huge gathering outside. Jai Shri Ram slogans are being raised. However, there is no security at the gate of the Circuit House." Mahua claimed that she had also informed the police and administration. But she alleged that no action was taken. At this time, Online Krishnanagar Police tried to contact the SP of the district Atul V. But he did not pick up the phone. He was also sent a message. He also did not respond till the time of publishing this report. However, according to the Kotwali police station, as soon as the information was received, the police went to the spot and removed the protesters from the gate of the Circuit House.
On the other hand, BJP workers and supporters protesting in front of the gate of the Circuit House claim that Mahua has made ugly comments about Hindu gods and goddesses on various occasions. She should come out and apologize publicly. Otherwise, the BJP will protest in this way wherever she goes.
In her letter to the Speaker, Mahua said that MPs are number 21 on the priority list of the Union Home Ministry. According to her, as per the rules, MPs get more priority in terms of security than the Chief Secretary of a state. Even than the Chief Ministers of Union Territories. Mahua claimed that this incident has raised questions about the safety of women. She requested the Speaker to take exemplary action in this incident. Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee took to his X handle on Friday night to speak about the Circuit House incident. He wrote, "Tomorrow (on Independence Day) BJP leaders will speak about women empowerment in front of the country. You cannot celebrate women's power by standing on the stage after intimidating the woman who is challenging you." Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also wrote on his X handle, "The Speaker should clarify whether this is a violation of the privilege of an MP or not." On the other hand, state minister Dilip Ghosh took a dig at Mahua and said, "Is she trying to make headlines?"
