About 5,000 traffic police personnel will be on the ground to manage traffic. The entire traffic system will be managed through GPS tracking and technical monitoring. Major roads likely to be affected: Sardar Patel Marg, Akbar Road, Janpath, Barakhamba Road, Ashoka Road, Teen Murti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Mathura Road, Tolstoy Marg and APJ Abdul Kalam Road, along with several adjoining roads.
How closed is Delhi for the general public? Delhi Police has made it clear that despite the tight security, the entire city is not coming to a standstill. There will be temporary closures on certain roads during the VVIP movement, while traffic will remain normal on the rest. Most reassuringly, Delhi Metro services will generally be operational without any disruption.
