Bibhash Lodh, BS News Agency: Lionel Messi, the pride of Argentina, the prince of football, has retired from international football after the FIFA 2026 World Cup. And the possibility of seeing the Portuguese megastar Cristiano Ronaldo, with whom Messi's superiority and controversy have been going on for so long, playing in the next World Cup is low, if not non-existent. Because age is a factor for Ronaldo. Therefore, it can be said that it is better not to think about Messi and Ronaldo facing each other in the World Cup. Even at the club level, Messi and Ronaldo have not been seen playing for the same team. But such a possibility has emerged strongly around Carlos Tevez's farewell match. And that could happen in December this year.

Tevez played alongside both Messi and Ronaldo.  Argentine star Tevez played many matches with Messi in the national jersey. And Tevez spent two seasons with Ronaldo in the Manchester United jersey, from 2007 to 2009. Tevez, 42, played his last professional match three years ago. He is going to organize a farewell match at his boyhood club Boca Juniors in December. Five years after retiring from Boca Juniors, Tevez is going to receive a proper farewell honor. 60 star footballers from all over the world are going to gather at the historic La Bombonera stadium in December for Tevez's farewell match. Tevez has also taken the initiative to play Messi and Ronaldo with him.

Tevez said, "Messi and Ronaldo are the two best footballers in the world. I always wanted Messi and Ronaldo to play in the same team. I have asked both of them to play together in my farewell match. I hope they will respect my request.  I am in touch with them on WhatsApp. I will go and bring both of them for my farewell match. If they play, the world will get a chance to see the magic of football between the two.’

Messi has decided not to play for his country anymore, but he is still participating in MLS games for Inter Miami. On the other hand, although his dream of winning the World Cup with Portugal is still elusive, 41-year-old Ronaldo is playing brilliantly for Al Nasr in the Saudi Pro League. With a goal of scoring 1,000 goals in mind, Ronaldo needs 22 more goals to achieve that. Messi and Ronaldo faced each other in a pre-season friendly match three years ago. In that match, PSG defeated Riyadh All Stars XI by 5-4 goals.
