At the inauguration of this project, the Chief Minister was seen in the role of a conductor in a government bus in Chennai. He really wanted to see the tickets of the passengers. He even handed over the bus tickets to the passengers himself.

During the previous government's tenure, women in Tamil Nadu could travel free in government buses in metropolitan and urban areas and in ordinary buses up to 40 km on hilly roads. They did not have to pay any bus fare. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has extended further benefits to women.

Under the 'Vetti Payanam' scheme, women are currently getting the benefit of free travel in metropolitan, intra-urban express, limited stop service and deluxe buses in Tamil Nadu. There will be an opportunity to travel free in ordinary buses plying on routes more than 40 km from urban areas ĺpl ordinary buses on hilly roads. Yesterday, the Tamil Nadu government announced that a total of 12,692 buses of seven transport companies in the state have been brought under this scheme. 84.3 lakh women will get special benefits under this scheme every day.lll
