No pre-poll before verdict: Calcutta High Court's historic order has created a stir in state politics!

BS News Agency: The Calcutta High Court has given a very important and big order in the case related to the reallocation or delimitation of seats in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. The court has made it clear that no election or polling schedule of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation can be announced before the verdict in this case is published. The division bench of Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharya and Justice Arjun Roy Mukherjee has issued this order. A resident of Kasba had filed this case alleging that the reallocation of seats was not done in accordance with the legal process and rules. The case was transferred to the division bench challenging the single bench's order and the court took this interim step after a quick hearing. After the hearing of the case was completed today as per the scheduled list, the court said that the final verdict in the case will be announced next Friday. The main petitioner in the case feared that if there is a delay in the legal process, the pre-poll may be announced before the verdict, which will destroy the effectiveness of the case. Taking this concern seriously, the division bench has banned the issuance of any election-related notifications until the verdict is delivered. The political circles and the city residents are now looking forward to this verdict of the court.
