BS News Agency: Aftab Amin Poonawala, the main accused in the brutal Shraddha Walkar Murder Case that shook the country, is now spending his days in extreme fear. It has been alleged that he is being continuously threatened with death within the four walls of Tihar Jail. Aftab, who was angered by other prisoners in the jail, finally approached the court, expressing his fear of losing his life. Based on his sensational allegations, Delhi's Saket Court has given strict orders to the Tihar Jail authorities to ensure the safety of the accused.

Threat to cut his face with needles and sharp weapons!

 In his complaint filed in the Saket court, Aftab claimed that for the past ten days, some inmates of Tihar Jail have been regularly threatening him with death. Not only that, but also physical abuse such as cutting his face with sharp weapons and needles to intimidate him has also been alleged. He has also revealed the names of five specific inmates while mentioning such horrific incidents before the court. Judging by the seriousness and sensitivity of the complaint, the judge has clearly ordered that the jail superintendent must take immediate strict steps to ensure Aftab's safety. If necessary, the judge has also said that he should be shifted to another secure cell or ward, completely separated from tainted and dangerous prisoners. The court has strictly reminded that the responsibility for the safety of an undertrial prisoner lies entirely with the jail authorities. A copy of this order has also been sent to the officers in charge of Mehrauli police station.

 Revisiting the history of that brutal murder

It is worth noting that in May 2022, Aftab was accused of brutally strangling his live-in partner Shraddha Waqar to death in his rented flat in Mehrauli, Delhi. Police investigation revealed that he had become enraged over Shraddha talking to another young man through a dating app. Then, in a very cold-blooded manner, he cut Shraddha's body into pieces with a saw, scissors and a knife, hid it in a fridge and, seizing the opportunity, threw it in various forests of Mehrauli. In January 2023, the Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against Aftab on charges of murder, kidnapping and destruction of evidence. In May of the same year, the court framed formal charges against him. Although he has been claiming complete innocence. The case is currently pending in a fast-track court and the recovered bones, jawbone, hair and blood samples have been added to the court records as forensic evidence. Now, this brutal murderer himself is spending his days in prison under tight security.
