The road to installing the statue of Maharaja Jagdipendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur has finally been cleared. With the intervention of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a Bhoomi Puja was held today to install the statue of Maharaja Jagdipendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur in front of the North Bengal Development Department.
The work of installing the statue was officially started through this puja. Cooch Behar Municipality Chairman Rabindranath Ghosh, Trinamool District President Abhijit De Bhowmik, former MP Partha Pratim Roy, member of the royal family Kumar Mridul Narayan and other dignitaries were present.
The leaders who came to the program today said that this statue will become a symbol of pride in the history and tradition of Cooch Behar. In addition, the statue of the Maharaja will be installed at some other important places in Cooch Behar.
The people of Cooch Behar are happy that the work for installing this statue has started through Bhoomi Puja today.
