Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Bengaluru: Five people, including two children, were burnt alive in a massive fire in a multi-storey building in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The incident took place early on Saturday (August 16) in a multi-storey building near Steel Market in Nagarapai area of Bengaluru. The tragic incident has created a mournful atmosphere in the area. It is learnt that all four of the deceased are members of the same family. According to police sources, several families live in the multi-storey building. Somehow, the fire broke out there in the morning. It took a terrible shape in a matter of moments. After receiving the news of the incident, 18 police and fire engines rushed to the spot. After much effort, the fire was brought under control, and it was learnt that five people died inside the house. According to police sources, the deceased are Madan Singh Rajpurohit, a businessman from Jhalor, Rajasthan. His wife and two children. They have been residents of this multi-storey building for the past 15 years. The bodies of his wife and children were recovered there. Madan's body was recovered from the warehouse downstairs. Besides, another youth named Suresh Kumar died due to the fire. It is learnt that the fire somehow spread from this warehouse. How the fire broke out is not yet known. The police have started an investigation into the entire incident.
