Foundation day of East Bengal Club

On the occasion of the 106th foundation day of East Bengal Club, a felicitation ceremony was held at Khudiram Anushnil Kendra today.

Club President Murari Lal Lohia inaugurated the ceremony with his speech.

Honorable Sports Minister Shri Arup Biswas and Kolkata Mayor Mr. Firhad Hakim were honored as the guests of honor on the stage. 
Those who were honored at this felicitation ceremony were –
Swapan Ball Memorial 'Supporter' Honorees were Shri Nani Gopal Banik and Shri Montu Saha.  They were felicitated by the club's general secretary Rupak Saha I. 
Shri Karuna Chakraborty was felicitated with the Pankaj Gupta Memorial 'Referee' award, presented by Dipankar Chakraborty. 
Shri Kartik Indu was felicitated with the Pratul Chakraborty Memorial 'Referee' award, presented by Co-President Dr. Shanti Ranjan Dasgupta. 
International Master Shri Aranyak Ghosh was honoured with a special award in recognition of his talent by IFA President Ajit Banerjee and Rajat Guha I
Dr. Pallab Basu Mallick was honoured with the Ajay Bose Memorial 'Journalist' award, presented by IFA President Ajit Banerjee and former captain Vikas Panji I
Shri Utpal Sarkar was honoured with the Pushpen Sarkar Memorial 'Alokchitri' award, presented by former captain Prashant Banerjee and Shyam Thapa. Shri Sanjay Sen was honoured with the ‘Pradeep Kumar Banerjee’ Memorial Award, presented by MLA Debashis Kumar and former captain Manoranjan Bhattacharya I 
Anthony Andrews was honoured with the ‘Pradeep Kumar Banerjee’ Memorial Award, presented by MLA Debashis Kumar and former captain Manoranjan Bhattacharya I 
Indian Women’s League and Kanyashree Cup champions East Bengal women’s football team were honoured on stage I 
East Bengal Club and Indian women’s football team player Smt. Sangeeta Basford was honoured with the ‘Pride of Bengal’ Award, presented by club president Murari Lal Lohia, former captain Gautam Sarkar, Subrata Dutta.    
Former Indian Hockey Team Captain Padma Bhushan P. R. Sreejesh was honoured with the 'Bharat Gaurav' award, presented by Hon'ble Sports Minister Shri Arup Biswas, Kolkata Mayor Mr. Firhad Hakim, Club President Murari Lal Lohia, former captains Bhaskar Ganguly and Atanu Bhattacharya I
Gopal Bose Memorial 'Cricketer of the Year' award was presented to Shri Kanishk Seth, presented by CAB President Snehashis Ganguly and Bablu Ganguly. 
A documentary was shown on the 1975 5-goal match and a talk show was held with the players of that team, which included Tarun Basu, Shyam Thapa, Samaresh Chowdhury, Gautam Sarkar and Ranjit Mukherjee and the program was hosted by eminent journalist Gautam Bhattacharya. At the end of the talk show, everyone was felicitated.
The reserve team of East Bengal Club was felicitated on stage. 
Dr. Ramesh Chandra (Nasha) Sen Memorial 'Lifetime Achievement Award' was conferred on former captain Shri Satyajit Mitra. As Satyajit Mitra was out of the country due to medical treatment, former player Ashok Chanda received the award on his behalf, and the I.F.A.  Secretary Anirban Dutta and General Secretary Rupak Saha I 
Byomkesh Bose Memorial 'Lifetime Achievement Award' was given to former captain Shri Mihir Bose, he was awarded by I.F.A. Secretary Anirban Dutta, President Murari Lal Lohia and former captain Gautam Sarkar I
Banwarilal Roy Memorial 'Best Footballer of the Year' was given to Shri Souvik Chakraborty, he was awarded by Emami Group Director Sandeep Agarwal, Principal Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Club Football Secretary Saikat Ganguly and Jayant Chakraborty I 
Banwarilal Roy Memorial 'Best Female Footballer of the Year' was given to Smt. Soumya Gugulath, she was awarded by Co-President Kalyan Majumdar and General Secretary Rupak Saha. 
Shri P. V. Vishnu was honoured with the Jiban Chakraborty Memorial 'Emerging Player of the Year' award, presented by Emami Group Director Sandeep Agarwal and Debabrata Sarkar. 
The senior football team of East Bengal Club was honoured on stage.
A video of each of the honourees was screened on stage. 
The entire event was hosted by eminent journalist Gautam Bhattacharya.
