Sourav to contest for CAB president post, victory assured
Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Kolkata: The prediction was already made. Sourav Ganguly himself made it more clear. On Monday, after leaving the CAB Apex Council meeting, Sourav told the media that he will contest for the post of CAB president. He will submit his nomination for the post of president before the CAB annual general meeting. Earlier, Sourav was the CAB president from 2015-19.
Three years ago, speculation was rife about Sourav standing for the post of CAB president. But Sourav withdrew from the race to give him a chance to sit as president without getting into any conflict with his elder brother Snehashis Ganguly. This time, Snehashis has no chance to remain in that post as the current president, as per the Lodha Committee rules. Therefore, it can be assumed that if Sourav submits his nomination for the post of president, no one else from CAB will go to the battlefield with him. In that case, it is only a matter of time before Sourav becomes the president in the CAB elections to be held on September 20 unopposed.
