A Leopard attacks again in Uttar Shalbari area of Banarhat police station in Jalpaiguri district. A 12-year-old schoolboy died in a tiger attack.
On Tuesday, around 7 pm, the Teenager went to the courtyard of his house after eating. Suddenly, a leopard entered the village and dragged the teenager away in a moment. Hearing the screams, the villagers rushed to save him, but he could not be saved.
There is widespread panic and anger in the area. Locals allege that tiger attacks have occurred in this area several times before. Every time, ordinary people have lost their lives or been seriously injured. Still, the forest department has allegedly not taken any effective action.
The most worrying thing is that even though the police have reached the spot, no forest department personnel have reached the spot. As a result, the villagers have expressed intense anger.
In the words of a neighbor, “Tiger often enters the village. We spend our days in fear. Today it took Alamin, who knows who else it will take tomorrow. But the administration is still silent.”
Along with grief, intense anger has spread across the area. Expressing anger against the forest department and the administration, the locals have demanded that security arrangements be made immediately.
Although the forest department was contacted in this regard, there was no response.
Update,
There is still tension in the area. Finally, the forest department team reached the area. Additional Superintendent of Police Rural, SDPO Dhupguri, along with a large police force from Dhupguri and Banarhat police stations, are in the area to handle the situation.
