Tragic road accident Twenty-seven-year-old youth dies after being hit by bike-tractor.
Sanchita Chatterjee BS News Agency Arambagh: A tragic road accident occurred on Thursday morning at Radha Bazar, adjacent to the Burdwan-Arambagh State Highway (No. 7) of Khandaghosh police station in East Burdwan district. A youth died in the incident!
It is learned that the deceased youth's name is Tapan Mondal (27), from Joynagar area of South 24 Parganas. He was a lorry driver by profession. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred at around 9 am.
According to special sources, a lorry was going to Badulia from Medinipur, carrying paddy. Driver Tapan Mondal got off the lorry at a junction in East Burdwan. Then he took the driver's bike and started towards Badulia. At that time, near Badulia, the bike hit the big wheel of the engine of a brick-laden tractor heading towards Sehara Bazar in Radha Bazar. Tapan Mondal suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the accident occurred due to the driver's carelessness. Upon receiving the information, the Seharabazar outpost police, Khandaghosh police station police and the traffic department quickly reached the spot. The police have already seized the deadly tractor, but the driver is absconding. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
