Kolkata Seminar Explores the Coexistence of Science and Society.

Sanchita Chatterjee, BS News Agency, Kolkata: A thought-provoking seminar on the theme of 'Science and Society Coexistence' concluded successfully on Sunday, jointly organized by Bharatiya Vidya Mandir and Bharatiya Sanskriti Sansad at the latter's auditorium in the city.
The distinguished speakers included Padma Shri Prahlad Rai Agarwala, Chairman of Rupa Company and a renowned philanthropist; Dr. Himadri Shekhar Maiti, former Director of CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute; and guest speaker Dr. P.R. Swarup, Director General of the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), who shared their insights on utilizing scientific advancements to address contemporary social challenges.
The discussion was moderated by renowned astrophysicist Dr. Debiprasad Duari, while Brahmachari Divakar Chaitanya of Chinmaya Mission graced the occasion. Dr. Vithal Das Mundhra, Chairman of the organizing institutions, introduced the theme, emphasizing the need for the harmonious integration of science, technology, and social values.
Among other dignitaries present were Vice Presidents Dr. Tara Dugar and Rajgopal Sureka. The event aimed to foster dialogue among scientists, industrialists, and the general public, and to promote greater awareness of India's progress in science and technology.
