BS News Agency, Diu January 7, 2026: Hosts Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu delivered a commanding performance in the Boys’ Beach Soccer Group Stage match at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026, defeating Himachal Pradesh 15–1 at the picturesque beach arena in Diu on Tuesday morning.
Played under pleasant and playable weather conditions with the temperature hovering around 30°C, the match witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, who were treated to an attacking masterclass by the home side.
Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu set the tone early, finishing the first period 2–0 ahead. Their dominance grew stronger in the second period, where they netted eight goals, while conceding just once. The team maintained its momentum in the third period, adding five more goals to seal a comprehensive victory. No extra time or penalty shootouts were required.
Captain Jay Nitesh Halpatti led from the front with an outstanding goal scoring display, ably supported by Keyur Mangela and Don Remedios, who made crucial offensive contributions. Goalkeeper Prayash Raju Halpatti ensured stability at the back with a composed performance.
For Himachal Pradesh, the lone goal came amid sustained pressure, while an unfortunate own goal by Mehul Kumar added to their challenges on the day.
